With the much-anticipated Ganesh Festival on the horizon, citizens hailing from the Konkan region are embarking on a mass exodus to their ancestral villages, eager to partake in the grand celebrations. As devotees from Mumbai and its suburbs gear up for this auspicious occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has orchestrated a grand gesture of facilitation by launching six exclusive trains, collectively known as the “Namo Express,” to transport the faithful to the Konkan region.

The inaugural journey of this special service embarked on Thursday, September 14, with the first train departing from Dadar station at 9.45 pm. The departure ceremony was marked by the esteemed presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, underscoring the significance of this initiative.

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane conveyed the party’s unwavering commitment to fostering an atmosphere of enthusiastic celebration during Hindu festivals. He remarked, “With the previous government’s departure, the obstacles hindering the celebration of Hindu festivals have been eliminated. The BJP stands firmly with the Ganesh devotees traveling to Konkan and has organized six dedicated trains from Mumbai for the festival, with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis flagging off the inaugural train.”

During his address, Nitesh Rane did not shy away from political commentary, likening the previous Maha Vikas Aaghadi government to the Mughal King Aurangzeb. He alleged that celebrating Hindu festivals had faced challenges under the Shiv Sena-led administration, further emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to enabling a more vibrant and unhindered observance of such festivals.

Each year, lakhs of people from Mumbai embark on a pilgrimage to their Konkan villages to partake in the grand festivities of the ten-day-long Ganesh Festival. This event holds immense cultural and religious significance in both the Konkan and Mumbai, resulting in intense competition for train tickets and bus bookings. Recognizing the festival’s widespread popularity, the BJP has introduced these special “Namo Express” trains in addition to the regular scheduled services, with the aim of enhancing the convenience of devotees.

In a gesture aimed at further facilitating the mass exodus, the BJP has also coordinated the deployment of over 300 buses to ensure the seamless travel of devotees heading to the Konkan region. This proactive approach by the BJP is set to make the Ganesh Festival celebration a more accessible and joyous occasion for devotees from all walks of life.
