In a press conference in Nagpur, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis presented the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) vision and guarantees for the next term if Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government returns to power. Fadnavis criticized the Congress party’s manifesto, stating that it has failed to fulfill its promises in the past, calling it a mere “paper manifesto.”
On the other hand, Fadnavis declared that for the BJP, “the manifesto is PM Modi’s guarantee.” He outlined the party’s resolution, which he claimed reflects PM Modi’s assurances for the people.
According to Fadnavis, the BJP’s resolution outlines a plan to provide free rations to 80 crore citizens over the next five years and universal free treatment for citizens above 70 years of age. The party also aims to include a third party in the Ayushman Bharat scheme and phase out the cylinder method for gas supply, replacing it with a piped gas system. Additionally, the BJP plans to provide one crore houses with solar power and waive their electricity bills.
Highlighting the success of the Mudra Yojana, Fadnavis stated that 60 percent of the beneficiaries were women, and the loan limit under the scheme will be increased to Rs 20 lakh.
On the agriculture front, the BJP promises to promote natural farming, strengthen crop insurance schemes, and position Srianna as a superfood. Fadnavis mentioned that efforts would be made to increase vegetable production and storage facilities. The party also plans to launch an agriculture satellite, the first of its kind in the country, and establish grain storage facilities in villages. Nano urea will be promoted to reduce the use of conventional urea, and measures will be taken to preserve fruits and vegetables.
Regarding employment and entrepreneurship, Fadnavis stated that startups are contributing significantly to job creation, and the party plans to provide substantial funding and encouragement for startups. Additionally, the BJP aims to position India as a supplier country for electric vehicles, manufacturing, and electronics.
To support women’s empowerment, the party proposes establishing a Shakti Desk in every police station to address grievances and implementing the Nari Shakti Vandan Act more effectively.
Fadnavis emphasized that a strict law would be enacted to combat paper leaks, and maximum credit facilities would be provided to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Chandrasekhar Bawankule, who was present at the press conference, echoed Fadnavis’s statements, highlighting the BJP’s commitment to delivering on its promises, which Fadnavis described as PM Modi’s personal guarantee, in contrast to the Congress party’s failed “paper manifesto.”
