In a dramatic press conference on Friday, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh echoed his party’s claims of a nefarious plot unfolding against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Singh raised serious concerns about Kejriwal’s safety, alleging that there’s a concerted effort to harm him while in custody. He didn’t mince words as he pointed fingers at key figures including the Lieutenant Governor (LG), Enforcement Directorate (ED), and officials from Tihar Jail.
Singh’s accusations didn’t stop there. He vehemently argued that fabricated stories were being peddled to tarnish Kejriwal’s image, further exacerbating the situation. The recent controversy surrounding Kejriwal’s health was also addressed by Singh, who highlighted the CM’s struggle with diabetes and alleged negligence in administering insulin promptly.
The MP’s remarks were particularly scathing towards BJP leaders, whom he accused of callously mocking Kejriwal’s health issues. Singh criticized what he perceived as the dissemination of misleading information through the media, questioning the authenticity of a purported diet chart leaked by the ED.
Singh’s apprehension about Kejriwal’s safety was palpable, as he warned of potential risks lurking in the shadows. He emphasized that the BJP’s animosity towards Kejriwal knows no bounds, raising concerns about the CM’s well-being in custody. Singh drew parallels between Kejriwal’s treatment and that of a terrorist, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
The allegations didn’t emerge in isolation. Earlier, Delhi Cabinet minister Atishi had voiced similar apprehensions, suggesting a sinister agenda to harm Kejriwal by depriving him of essential amenities in jail. These claims were promptly refuted by prison authorities, adding another layer of complexity to an already contentious situation.
As the political landscape in Delhi simmers with tension, the fate of Arvind Kejriwal hangs in the balance. With accusations flying from all directions, the narrative surrounding Kejriwal’s incarceration becomes increasingly convoluted, raising pressing questions about justice, accountability, and the rule of law.
