BJP party workers to visit each household in the state to collect fund for Ram temple

Mumbai: Maharashtra BJP president, Chandrakant Patil Wednesday said that his party workers would visit each household in the state to collect donation for the construction of a temple for Lord Ram at Ayodhya.

The Centre had set up Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust for the construction and management of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya.  

Addressing a press conference, Patil said BJP will actively participate in the collection of fund for the construction of the temple by visiting every household in the state.

“Every individual thinks that his share should be there in the construction of the huge temple. The trust will collect fund from the citizens. BJP is going to show its active participation”, he added.

“The party men would collect Rs.10 each from the people by visiting the household. A plan has been chalked out in this regard from the booth-level”, he said.

BJP reviews its performance in legislative council polls

Patil also said that a review of the party’s performance in the six Legislative Council polls in which party could bag only one seat out of six for which election was held in last month.

The central leadership of BJP had sought a detailed report from the Maharashtra unit for its dismal show in the recent Graduate and Teacher State Legislative Council elections. Out of the six state legislative council seats, BJP bagged only one. The Maha Vikas Aghadi had secured four and one went to an independent candidate.

He said various irregularities were found in the legislative council election like rising in voting in the final hour, names of voters who were not graduate and a large number of blank ballot papers being found.

He said the party will approach the Election Commission as well it will also file a petition in the High Court.

28 party leaders to tour the state

The senior party leader said, 28 party leaders, will tour across the state in the next three days. He said these leaders will take a call on extending help to the workers of the party. They will also review the preparations to contest polls in 14,500 Gram Panchayats.
