BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad Accuses Congress of Disrupting Parliament, Avoiding Discussion

New Delhi: BJP MP and senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad launched a strong attack on the opposition, particularly the Congress party, accusing them of deliberately stalling Parliament proceedings and avoiding meaningful discussions on key national issues. Speaking to reporters, Prasad said, “The opposition, and especially Congress, are not allowing the House to function. They come outside and say they are not allowed to speak, but they do not participate in discussions in the House. What does this mean?”

Prasad questioned the opposition’s intent, suggesting that their strategy is not to engage with the government but to create disruption and mislead the public by playing victim outside the House. “We want to say that the opposition should discuss. We are ready for discussion. But instead of taking part in debates, they keep shouting slogans, stage walkouts, and then claim they are being silenced,” he added.

The remarks come amid continued uproar in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, with opposition parties repeatedly stalling proceedings over issues ranging from the electoral roll revision (SIR) to alleged constitutional violations by the government. The BJP, however, maintains that it is open to dialogue and has invited the opposition several times for constructive debates.
