Gurugram: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released a list of 36 candidates for the upcoming municipal elections in Haryana, a day after announcing its mayoral candidate. The elections are scheduled for March 2, with vote counting on March 12.

The announcement has sparked discontent within the party, as several senior leaders who previously served as councillors were denied tickets despite their contributions. The BJP’s list includes a mix of new and experienced candidates, with names like Sunder Singh (Ward 1), Jyotsna Vipin Yadav (Ward 2), Pawan Yadav (Ward 3), and Sandeep Yadav (Ward 4), among others.

Meanwhile, the Congress is expected to release its list later today. The party had earlier stated it would wait for the BJP to finalize its candidates before making its announcement.

With candidates actively campaigning, BJP workers have taken to social media and ground-level outreach to boost support. The contest is expected to heat up as both parties finalize their electoral strategies.
