Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey takes voluntary retirement, likely to contest election on NDA ticket

In Bihar, the Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey has taken voluntary retirement with immediate effect.

The state government has granted his request, five months before the completion of his service tenure on February 28 next year.

He has been in limelight for taking a strong stand on the bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case in which an FIR was lodged in Patna. .Additional Charge of DGP has been given to DG( Homeguard) S K Singhal.

Pandey, who was to retire in February next year, is likely to contest the Assembly Elections in the state as an NDA candidate from Buxar. Reportedly, he has been assured a ticket from the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
