Patna: Bihar has completed the construction of a modern residential complex featuring newly built duplex accommodations for all 243 newly elected MLAs, marking a major upgrade to the State’s legislative housing facilities. The project includes 181 newly constructed duplexes at Daroga Rai Path in Patna, complementing the 62 bungalows built earlier and replacing the old MLA quarters.
Spread across 44 acres, each duplex spans around 3,700 sq ft and follows a 4BHK layout equipped with contemporary amenities. The design focuses on convenience and functionality, with the ground floor featuring a guest room, PA room, office room, and kitchen. The first floor houses three bedrooms, including a master bedroom. Each unit contains six toilets and an additional guard room on the upper level. The homes come fully furnished with beds, sofas, and necessary fixtures to ensure immediate usability.
The larger campus includes an MLA hostel, community center, and canteen. Every duplex carries the name and constituency number of its designated MLA to simplify identification and visitor access. The layout is aimed at fostering smoother interaction between MLAs and their constituents.
Sustainability has been prioritised in the project. Sewage water treatment and reuse systems are in place to support plantation, while rainwater harvesting structures have been installed. Energy efficiency is enhanced with LED street lighting, and the campus has been enriched with trees like champa, gulmohar, and mahogany.
