Village Keran is located very close to the Line of Control. Civil dignitaries and about 200 villagers of nearby villages of all four panchayats have attended the event. Civil dignitaries of these villages have appreciated the joint initiative of the BSF and Agriculture Department of J&K.

The villagers were of the view that such programmes must be organized on a regular basis in the villages located in far flung areas. Raja Babu Singh, IPS, IG Frontier HQ BSF Srinagar has graced the function as chief guest. In his speech he has assured the villagers that BSF will continue to organize such programmes for the benefits of villagers located in remote areas.

He has further confirmed that BSF will organize a medical camp at village Keran on May 21 in a very large scale and also requested the sarpanch of the villages that they should disseminate this information to all the villagers so that the needy villagers will be benefited. Iqbal Choudhary, Director and other senior officials of Agriculture Department (J&K) were also present in the programme and interacted with available Sarpanches, other civil dignitaries and villagers to know their problems as regards to the issues related to cultivation of local crops.

Besides seeds and seedlings, Sheller machines to each panchayat have also been provided free of cost.
