New Delhi: In a sharp attack ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Friday criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to announce its chief ministerial candidate. Atishi, who is contesting from the Kalkaji constituency, emphasized that the people of Delhi were questioning the BJP about its CM face.

“Today, the entire Delhi is asking from the ‘Galli-Galoch’ party who its CM face is. The people of Delhi know that by voting for AAP, Arvind Kejriwal will become the CM. But they are asking who will be BJP’s CM face,” Atishi said in a statement.

Atishi, who assumed the role of Delhi Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal’s brief resignation due to his incarceration, claimed to have insider knowledge about BJP’s selection for the CM post.

According to Atishi, BJP’s Kalkaji candidate, Ramesh Bidhuri, is the party’s potential pick for the role of CM. She referred to “credible sources” to back her claim, despite the BJP not making any official statement regarding the same.

Bidhuri, known for his controversial statements, was recently embroiled in a row after making a remark about constructing roads in Kalkaji as smooth as Priyanka Gandhi’s cheek. He later retracted his comment following a massive backlash.
