Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday visited the family of Manoj, a man fatally stabbed in the Narayana area of the national capital on Sunday. The victim’s family staged a protest, blocking the road and demanding strict action against the accused. The Delhi Police confirmed the protest and assured that steps are being taken to address their grievances.

Following the visit, Kejriwal took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Union Home Minister Amit Shah, holding him accountable for what he described as the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi. He accused the BJP-led Central government of failing to ensure the safety of Delhi residents.

Kejriwal’s remarks come after his sharp criticism of the BJP during a discussion on law and order in the Delhi Assembly on Friday. He alleged that the national capital has become a “gangster capital” under the current regime. “Shootouts are happening openly on a daily basis. It feels like gangs control Delhi. Businessmen live in constant fear of extortion calls, often followed by violent attacks on their shops and showrooms. Today, Delhi is known as the ‘gangster capital’ of the world,” Kejriwal said during the assembly session.

He also expressed concerns over alleged gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is accused of running extortion rackets, questioning how such activities continue unabated under the Union government’s oversight.

As Delhi Police comes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kejriwal held Amit Shah directly responsible for the alleged rise in crime. “The BJP has failed to provide basic security to Delhiites. The law and order situation has collapsed,” he stated.

The incident has reignited the ongoing political debate between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the BJP over governance and public safety in Delhi, with Kejriwal demanding accountability and immediate measures to address rising crime in the city.
