Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Rouse Avenue Court in the national capital on Saturday in connection with the Enforcement Directorate summons case. The court later granted him bail in both complaints filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Divya Malhotra presiding over the case granted bail to the Delhi CM on a bail bond of Rs 15,000 and a surety of Rs 1 lakh.
Kejriwal’s appearance before the court followed summons issued to him based on two ED complaints related to the Delhi Excise Policy case.
The Rouse Avenue Court had previously reserved an order on the stay of summons issued to Kejriwal, which was challenged by the Delhi CM. The court took cognizance of two complaints filed by the ED.
The Enforcement Directorate stated its intention to record Kejriwal’s statement regarding the formulation of policy, pre-finalization meetings, and allegations of bribery in the case.
This development underscores the ongoing legal saga surrounding Kejriwal and sheds light on the complex interplay between law enforcement agencies and political figures.
