Army organises Medical Camp at Bhaikh-Harvet village, locals thank profusely

Srinagar: As part of its social outreach program the Army held a Medical Camp at Bhaikh-Harvet village with the aim to provide quality medical care and free medicines to the poor and needy people.

A team of 10 Doctors including three Army Doctors, one Army Dental officer and six civilian Doctors from District Hospital Handwara that included a Physician, General Surgeon, Gynaecologist, Paediatrician and a Dentist.

The medical team offered consultation and treatment for various ailments. A total of 361 persons that included 177 men, 62 women and 122 children benefited from the medical camp.

A lecture was conducted by both Army and civilian Dental doctors on maintenance of Dental Hygiene. The Awam (people) expressed their gratitude and thanked the Army for such an initiative.

The Indian Army has been organising such medical camps in remote villages of the Kashmir valley. Recently, an expectant mother who was stuck in snow was carried on a stretcher to the nearest medical facility for treatment. The army has also been running schools for the needy children in the valley.
