Mumbai: Another video from Sion Hospital has surfaced on the social media, in which a person is seen jumping from an window of the hospital. Recently a video did the rounds of the social media from the same Sion hospital where the dead bodies of COVID-19 patients were kept in the same ward where other COVID-19 positive patients were being treated.
The latest video is shared by the former Member of Parliament Kirit Somaiya from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on his Twitter handle and has criticized the ruling government of Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). In the video, on May 3 is seen man hurriedly jumping off a window creating panic amongst the people present there in the room. According to the officials, he was subsequently brought back by security personnel. Kirit has mentioned the ward no 5, of Sion hospital in his post of man jumping off from the hospital window.
Earlier video from Sion hospital was shared by BJP MLA Nitesh Rane on May 7, in which patients were seen being treated allegedly next to bodies wrapped in black body bags. Taking cognizance, the BMC has formed a committee to authenticate the video. The BMC has further assured that the civic body will issue a report within 24 hours after the investigation.
These videos surfacing on social media as there is surge in number of COVID-19 positive cases has created a panic amongst the Mumbaikars, especially when the patients are being treated like this in the hospital and raises lot of questions on administration and the civic body.
