Mumbai: An anonymous email warning of a possible explosion within 48 hours has triggered a high alert across Maharashtra. The email, received by the Maharashtra Police Control Room on Tuesday, contained no specific information about the location or timing of the threat but urged officials not to take it lightly. The cryptic message has since set off an urgent investigation led by Mumbai Police to trace the origin and sender.

According to sources within the police department, “The email didn’t specify where or when the explosion might occur, but it did emphasize urgency. We have taken it seriously and alerted all major units.” The matter is now under high-priority surveillance, and all cyber and intelligence wings have been mobilized to uncover any leads.

This alarming development comes in the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam that killed several security personnel. As a result, major cities across the country have witnessed stepped-up security, with Mumbai — the nation’s financial capital — being one of the most fortified.
