Panchkula: In a grand ceremony held on Thursday, BJP leader Nayab Singh Saini was sworn in as the chief minister of Haryana for the second time, with notable figures like Anil Vij and Shruti Choudhry joining him as ministers. The event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key members of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), marked a significant moment for the state’s political landscape.
Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Saini, a prominent leader representing the Other Backward Classes (OBC) within the BJP. His reappointment follows a historic win for the party in the recent October 5 assembly elections, where the BJP secured 48 out of 90 seats, ensuring a third consecutive term in power. The Congress party trailed with 37 seats.
The swearing-in ceremony saw the presence of several senior BJP leaders, including BJP President J.P. Nadda, Union Minister Chirag Paswan, and Rajiv Ranjan Singh. Chief ministers from other BJP-ruled states were also in attendance, highlighting the importance of the event, which was followed by a conclave focused on state governance.
Saini’s leadership has been crucial in steering the party through a challenging political landscape, especially given the anti-incumbency pressures related to issues like farmer distress, unemployment, and inflation. His unanimous election as the leader of the BJP legislature party on Wednesday solidified his leadership role within the party.
Alongside Saini, a total of 14 ministers were sworn in as part of his cabinet, reflecting the diversity of representation from various communities in Haryana. Here’s a full list of the ministers inducted into Nayab Saini’s cabinet:
