Renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, Jaya Bachchan, have bestowed their iconic Pratiksha bungalow, the initial among their five family residences in Juhu, as a heartfelt gift to their 49-year-old daughter, Shweta Nanda.
This significant property, situated on 10th Road in the Juhu Vile Parle Development scheme, was formally transferred through two distinct gift deeds for two plots, completed on November 8. The first plot, jointly owned by Amitabh Bachchan and his esteemed wife, spans 9,585 square feet, valued at ₹31.39 crore, while the second, owned by Amitabh himself, covers 7,254 square feet, with a value of ₹19.24 crore. These details were sourced from Zapkey.com, which accessed the registration documents.
As part of the transfer, the Bachchans fulfilled a stamp duty payment of ₹50.65 lakh, as indicated in the documents.
Pratiksha holds a special place in the family’s history, being the inaugural bungalow acquired by the couple shortly after the phenomenal success of the blockbuster film “Sholay” in 1975. Initially inhabited by the Bachchan duo along with Amitabh’s revered father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and mother Teji Bachchan, the family eventually shifted to their current residence, Jalsa, located one kilometer away.
