Mumbai: In a major boost to India’s aviation sector, Akasa Air has officially announced that it will begin operations from the soon-to-be-launched Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) starting 25 December 2025. The move positions Akasa among the first airlines to take off from the new airport, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8.
According to the airline’s communication to travel partners, Akasa’s debut flights will commence on Christmas Day, followed by a steady rollout of regular and selective-day schedules across multiple domestic routes. The new airport will initially see Akasa connecting Delhi, Goa, Kochi, and Ahmedabad, significantly strengthening western India’s aviation network.
Double Delhi Launch Flights on Opening Day
Akasa Air will mark its entry with two special Delhi-bound flights on the opening day.
- Flight QP 1831: Departing Delhi at 05:25, landing at NMI at 08:10
- Return Flight QP 1832: Taking off from NMI at 08:50, reaching Delhi at 11:15
These inaugural flights are scheduled exclusively for December 25 as part of the grand opening.
Daily Delhi Operations From December 26
From 26 December, regular daily services on the Delhi–NMI route will begin:
- Morning Delhi → NMI (QP 1831): Departs 06:30, arrives 08:50
- NMI → Delhi (QP 1832): Departs 10:55, lands 13:15
This sector is expected to draw strong business and tourism traffic.
Daily Goa Services From Christmas Day
Akasa Air will also launch daily flights to Goa’s Mopa Airport starting 25 December:
- Goa → NMI (QP 1928): 15:40 – 17:00
- NMI → Goa (QP 1927): 17:40 – 18:55
Runs every day except Wednesday.
Kochi Connectivity Expands in Phases
Services to Kochi will begin on 26 December, initially operating only on Fridays and Saturdays:
- Kochi → NMI (QP 1914): 10:50 – 12:45
- NMI → Kochi (QP 1915): 13:30 – 15:30
From 28 December, additional Kochi flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, enhancing travel options for southern India.
Ahmedabad Route From December 31
Akasa Air will add Ahmedabad to its Navi Mumbai network starting 31 December:
NMI → Ahmedabad (QP 1916): Departs 17:40, arrives 18:50
Operates only on Wednesdays.
