Investigation Enters Final Stage
One year after the Air India AI-171 tragedy, the government has said that the investigation into the crash is now in its final phase. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said authorities are working towards completing the inquiry but will not rush the process.
The minister said the investigation is being carried out under strict national and international guidelines to ensure that every detail is properly examined before the final report is released.
No Compromise on Investigation Process
Naidu stressed that aviation accident investigations require careful analysis and cannot be hurried.
According to him, officials are following established procedures to determine the exact cause of the accident. He said transparency and accountability remain key priorities and that the final report will be made public only after all necessary checks are completed.
Tribute to Victims on First Anniversary
Marking one year since the crash, the minister remembered those who lost their lives and expressed condolences to their families.
He said investigators continue to work professionally and remain committed to finding the facts behind the accident while helping improve aviation safety standards in the country.
Air India Strengthens Safety Measures
As the investigation continues, Air India has introduced several measures aimed at improving safety and operational reliability.
The airline carried out detailed inspections of its Boeing 787 aircraft fleet under the supervision of aviation regulators. These checks were conducted as part of a wider review following the accident.
Focus on Better Fleet Performance
The airline has expanded programmes designed to improve the performance of its Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
Officials said the number of reliability projects has increased significantly over the past year, with efforts focused on reducing delays, improving efficiency and ensuring smoother operations for passengers.
Expanded Mental Health Support for Employees
Air India has also strengthened support systems for its employees.
The airline expanded its mental health and wellness initiatives by providing access to psychologists, counselling services and professional support for staff and their families.
Final Report Awaited
The AI-171 investigation remains one of India’s most closely watched aviation inquiries. While authorities say the probe is nearing completion, they have made it clear that accuracy will take priority over speed.
The government expects the final report to be released after all evidence has been reviewed and investigators complete the remaining stages of the process.
