Srinagar: A team of the Agriculture Law Enforcement department on Thursday inspected the seeds, fertilizers and pesticide from the retail outlets in Handwara, Langate and Kralgund areas. The inspecting team checked licences of fertilizer and pesticide shops and found that many shopkeepers had not renewed their licenses. Such shopkeepers were asked to renew their licenses immediately to avoid the cancellation of their licenses.
The inspecting team also instructed seeds, pesticide and fertilizer dealers to sell good quality material to the farmers and put a rate list outside the shops so that the farmers may easily know the prices of the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
The Inspection team also took samples of the seeds and pesticides for testing their quality.
The inspecting team was led by Enforcement Inspector Syed Mushtaq Ahmad, Mohammad Lateef, Ghulam Ahmad Bhat and others.
Law Enforcement Inspector, Handwara and Kupwara Syed Mushtaq Ahmad said, such inspections will continue to ensure quality of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides be made available to farmers.
