Patna: Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, has strongly refuted speculations about his potential switch to political strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. The clarification comes after a viral post by journalist Deepak Chaurasia suggested that Yadav might join the new political front due to his growing discontent with Congress leadership.
In a sharp and sarcastic rebuttal to Chaurasia’s post, Pappu Yadav posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Deepak bhai, aaj sabere sabere maar liye hain kya? Aap to prime time me ghoont lekar jaate the, aaj itna sabere? Koi bade frustration me hain kya?” The jibe, dripping with irony, referred to a past controversy involving Chaurasia, where the anchor was accused of appearing inebriated on live television.
The speculation stemmed from an incident during the Bihar Bandh protest in Patna, where Mahagathbandhan parties, including the Congress and RJD, staged a rally. Reports suggested that Pappu Yadav and Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar were stopped from climbing the stage while other key leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, were allowed to share the platform.
While many viewed the incident as a snub, Pappu Yadav himself downplayed it, saying, “One leader from each party was present; this is not an insult. Who sees this as what depends on them. Nothing is greater than the public. If it’s for them, it’s okay to be insulted even a million times.”
