**Vivek Bhavsar** is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of **TheNews21**, an independent, reader-supported investigative newsroom based in Mumbai. A journalist with more than three decades of experience in political and investigative reporting, he has worked with leading English newspapers including *The Asian Age* and *Free Press Journal*, as well as prominent regional publications such as *Lokmat* and *Saamana*.
Throughout his career, Bhavsar has reported extensively on Maharashtra politics, governance, public policy, urban development and the functioning of government. His work has developed a particular focus on political decision-making, administrative accountability and the often less-visible processes through which public policy is shaped and implemented.
He is known for investigative reporting on government decisions, public expenditure, corruption and policy irregularities. Among his notable investigations was his reporting on the multi-crore Nanar petrochemical refinery project in Maharashtra’s Konkan region, which helped bring sustained public scrutiny to the project before it was eventually shelved.
Through TheNews21, he continues to focus on accountability journalism, government transparency and public-interest investigations.
