Former Vile Parle MLA Krishna Hegde thanked honorable CM Uddhav Thackeray for the 2 notifications dated 21th June 2021 and 19th March 2020 which states that the slums around the CSINA ( Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport) notified area be redeveloped under the SRA scheme and also that each eligible structure will now be given an increased area (305 sq ft)
“The local BJP leaders are trying to take credit without any reason or much effort for people living in the Airport area, It is the Shri Uddhav ji Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi Govt which has issued the Notifications and showing the path to development and rehabilitation”, said Hegde
Over 80000 houses are to be rehabilitated in the process In Situ.
65 acres of land are to be carved out from the Airport land to rehabilitate the residents.
Over 17000 tenements are already built in Vidyavihar and some residents from the Airport area had already started residing there during my term as MLA.
Other areas were also notified for the rehabilitation of the people staying on Airport land then.
Hegde also suggested that during his tenure as MLA that some part of the land at the Kalina University campus be used to accommodate the people affected by Airport expansion.
Chief Ministers including Vilasrao Deshmukh , Ashokrao Chavan and Prithiviraj Chavan have addressed the people living at the Airport area and assured them In Situ rehabilitation and Hon CM Uddhav Thackeray has also assured the same thru back to back notifications.
“BJP should stop misleading the people and trying to take credit where their involvement is now almost zero”, said former MLA.
In 2014 Sept 9th, a notification was issued by the Congress – NCP Aghadi Govt which clearly States In Situ rehabilitation for the Airport affected people and now the Maha Vikas Aghadi Govt led CM Shri Uddhav Thackeray has also assured the same.
Hegde thanked CM Thackeray for carrying out development with a Human face.
“Not only is the Sena led MVA Govt giving In-Situ rehabilitation to the people on Airport land but also giving them self-sufficient bigger homes with required facilities like schools, hospitals etc nearby to live in a more comfortable environment”, Hegde concluded.
