Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged the centre to adopt alternative methodology for conducting Board Exams this year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. In his address to the media in the National Capital today, Mr. Kejriwal said six lakh children in Delhi are going to take CBSE exams in which around one lakh teachers will also be participating as invigilators. The Chief Minister asserted that the examination centres can become major hotspots of Corona.

Mr. Kejriwal suggested that some alternative methods like an online or internal assessment evaluation should be adopted this year to promote the students. He also highlighted the alarming increase in number of daily COVID cases in the capital city.

He informed that nearly 13 thousand 500 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours which is far above the numbers recorded from the peak observed in last year. The Chief Minister appealed to citizens to step out of their homes only for compelling reasons and advised to follow all necessary protocols to safeguard themselves and their families.

He also informed that in the current wave of the pandemic 65 per cent of the patients are reported to be below 45 years of age.
