Mumbai: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr. Kirit Somaiya on Wednesday claimed that he is in possession of documents related to the purchase of land jointly by late Anvay Naik, his family members Akshata and Adnya and Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray, Manisha Ravindra Waikar at Murud in Raigad district of the state.
Anvay Naik, an interior designer had allegedly committed suicide after he was not paid his pending dues by TV anchor and Editor in chief of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami. Goswami who is arrested for the abetment of suicide of Naik is in a Taloja prison. He and two others arrested in this connection have been granted interim bail on the surety bond of Rs.50,000 by the Supreme Court(SC) today.
Speaking to newspersons here in Mumbai said that prima facie it appears that the business deal is suspicious and hence demanded the district collector of Raigad to conduct an inquiry into it.
A letter in this regard has been sent by Dr. Somaiya to Raigad district collector, Nidhi Chaudhary. A copy of the same has also been sent to the Raigad police superintendent.
He said he has sent the documents related to the purchase of the land at Kolai in Murud which was jointly purchased by the late Anvay Madhukar Naik, Akshata Anvay Naik, Adnya Anvay Naik, Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray and Manisha Ravindra Waikar to the Raigad district collector.

He said it is necessary to bring to the fore about the financial and other relations between Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray and Anvay Naik and his family.
The former BJP MP further said that he has submitted the land deeds of nine plots of land the transaction of which took place between Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray and Anvay Naik.
Besides, he also said that it is necessary to make public the financial relation between Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray and Manisha Ravindra Waikar.
“Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray should clarify on this issue”, he demanded.
Meanwhile, former Sena minister Ravindra Waikar while speaking with TheNews21 said that anyone can purchase land and I have shown this land property in my election affidavit while contesting 2014 and 2019 assembly polls. “Not only me, Uddhav ji has also shown this property in his election affidavit,” said Waikar and added that he and Anvay Naik known each other from last several years.
“I am a developer and Naik was interior designer, hence we know each other. I insisted Uddhav ji to purchase the land. Anvay Naik was there in our joint property and hence his payment should not be given, is justifying?” Waikar questioned.
