Tehran while rejecting ‘ridiculous claim’ by the US, says the most important thing is Washington’s compliance with international laws, principles, and norms and that it stops from interfering in other countries and fulfills its commitments
New Delhi: Iran has outrightly rejected Microsoft Corporation’s claim on the attempt by hackers linked to Russia, China, and Iran of trying to influence the November 2020 US elections. In an official statement, Iran voiced that ‘the United States, which has interfered in the elections of other countries including Iran for several decades, is not in a position to make such a ridiculous claim.’
Iranian spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saeed Khatibzadeh rejected the false claim by Microsoft Corporation. In his statement to the international media, he said “The United States, which has interfered in the elections of other countries, including Iran, for several decades, toppled through coup Dr. Mohammad Mosadeq’s government that had been elected by Iranians, and leads active counterintelligence campaign against other countries — is not in a position to make such a ridiculous claim.”

Khatibzadeh emphasized that “As Iran has frequently said, it is not important for Tehran who leads the White House. The important thing is Washington’s compliance with international laws, principles, and norms and that it stops from interfering in other countries and fulfills its commitments.”
The Microsoft Corporation alleged that hackers linked to Russia, China, and Iran are trying to snoop on individuals and groups that are involved in the US Presidential elections in November 2020. The corporation that is involved in the technological field said that ‘Russian hackers that interfered in the Democratic election campaign in 2016 have become involved again.’ Microsoft stated that ‘it is clear that foreign activity groups have stepped up their efforts with the aim to target the election.’
According to the US technology company, both election campaigns in the Democratic front, led by Joe Biden, and the Republican front, led by President Donald Trump, are being targeted by these cyber-raiders.
