Mumbai: The Shiv Sena on Sunday accused the Centre and the Bihar government for hatching a conspiracy to derail the probe in Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case.
Launching an upfront attack, senior Sena leader and executive editor of ‘Saamana’, Sanjay Raut alleged, “It is one of the “biggest conspiracy” hatched by Centre and Bihar government against the Maharashtra government”.
He said a deliberate attempt is being made to obstruct the Mumbai police from reaching to its logical end in its probe. “A dirty politics is being played by opposition parties in the Sushant Singh Rajput case”, Raut said.
Raising questions over handing over of probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Raut said, the Maharashtra government was not consulted before taking this decision. “Without consulting the Maharashtra Government…without taking it into confidence, the Central Government tells in Supreme Court (SC) that it is issuing a notification to hand over the probe of Sushant Singh Rajput to CBI”, he added.
Backing the Mumbai police in its ongoing probe, Raut, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP of the party said, Mumbai police should be allowed to finish the probe, and after that, they (opposition) can make comments or criticise on the matter.
“Mumbai police is the most reputed police force in the world after Scotland Yard. The trial of the case should be done in the jurisdiction of Mumbai. I doubt their intentions who are doubting the investigation of the Mumbai police. Someone does not want Mumbai police to reach to the final conclusion”, he added.
Lambasting Bihar DGP, Gupteshwar Pandey, Raut said, “We respect the police force be it from any state, but the DGP of Bihar had contested election on a BJP ticket. What can you expect from him?”
He also said that the FIR in the suicide of the actor filed by his father should have been filed in Mumbai and not in Patna. “We are sensitive to the grief of Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, but after 40 days the FIR was registered by him…expressing shock!?
He said one should look at the chronology of events. “The screenplay is being drafted by someone else”, he added.
