A video showing Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia sharply confronting residents over a long-pending road demand in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place when residents stopped Scindia’s convoy while he was travelling to a village. The protesters raised slogans of “Road nahi to vote nahi” (No road, no vote) and demanded that the long-pending road work be completed.
Scindia Warns Protester Over Language
During the exchange, one resident reportedly told Scindia that people would not vote if the road was not constructed.
Scindia reacted sharply to the manner in which the demand was made and told the protester, “Do not ever use this language with me. Understood?”
The Union minister then asked the residents to make a request instead of speaking to him in that manner.
“I am talking to everyone. You come and make a request. It is my responsibility to get the work done. Okay?” Scindia said.
The exchange was recorded on video and later spread widely across social media, with Scindia’s response becoming the main focus of the viral clip.
Rs 3 Crore Road Project Announced
The confrontation was followed by an announcement regarding the road project. Scindia later announced that Rs 3 crore would be sanctioned for road construction from the MLA fund of Guna MLA Pannalal Shakya.
He also directed the district administration to take up the road construction work after the monsoon.
The incident has brought renewed attention to residents’ complaints over the long-pending road issue in the area and their demand for better civic infrastructure.
