The arrest came after investigators examined CCTV footage and other evidence linked to the incident. Police had initially registered a case at Sector 56 police station after taking suo motu cognisance of a video showing a car allegedly hitting Sia while she was riding on Golf Course Road.

As the investigation progressed, police added Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which relates to attempt to murder, to the FIR.

The section was added after Sia and her family approached the police and sought strict action against those allegedly involved in the incident.

Sia’s Family Seeks Strict Action

Sia’s family has maintained that the incident was deliberate and has sought action under provisions related to attempt to murder, hit-and-run and harassment.

Her family member Deepankar told police that Sia had identified four people who were inside the car and could clearly see the faces of two of them.

He also said Sia continued to experience severe muscle pain and physical discomfort following the incident.

Sia’s written statement has been submitted to the Station House Officer of Sector 56 police station. Police are also recording her detailed statement as part of the ongoing investigation.

Haryana Minister Promises Action

Haryana Minister Gaurav Gautam has said strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty in the case.

“Whoever is found guilty will be apprehended. Whoever the culprit is, even if it happens to be from my own family, they too will be caught,” Gautam said.

Police Investigation Continues

With Bainsala now in police custody after being arrested in Dausa, investigators are expected to bring him to Gurugram for questioning.

Police will examine his version of events along with CCTV footage, statements and other evidence gathered during the investigation.

The case began after a video of the alleged hit-and-run on Golf Course Road circulated widely online, prompting Gurugram Police to take suo motu cognisance and register an FIR.
