The collapse has claimed seven lives so far, while six critically injured people remain hospitalised among the 13 individuals rescued from the site.
Rekha Gupta Reviews Treatment of Injured Victims
During her visit to the trauma centre, Gupta met the injured victims and reviewed their medical condition. She also spoke with medical authorities about the treatment being provided to those who remain under observation.
The incident has prompted the Delhi government to take action against officials responsible for civic oversight in the area, with authorities moving to establish accountability following the collapse.
Five Municipal Officials Suspended
Five municipal officials, including personnel holding positions from Junior Engineer level to senior ranks, have been suspended following the incident.
The government has also initiated measures concerning administrative supervision, including references to earlier transfers associated with civic-related incidents.
The action comes amid scrutiny over whether adequate checks and monitoring were carried out before the structure collapsed.
Delhi Orders Structural Audits of PG Accommodations
In a wider safety measure following the tragedy, the Delhi government has directed authorities to conduct comprehensive structural audits of paying guest (PG) accommodations operating across the national capital.
The audits are intended to determine whether such properties meet prescribed structural and safety requirements and whether residents are being housed in buildings that comply with applicable regulations.
Officials have been directed to ensure that safety standards are strictly followed and potential structural risks are identified before they lead to further incidents.

The Satya Niketan collapse has raised fresh concerns over the safety of buildings being used for residential accommodation in densely populated parts of Delhi.
By ordering inspections of PG properties across the city, the government is seeking to identify vulnerable structures and strengthen enforcement mechanisms.
