After Ending Delhi Protest, CJP Turns Focus to Punjab Exam Row; Abhijeet Dipke Says ‘Next Strategy Soon’

A day after calling off its 36-day protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has shifted its attention to the alleged examination controversy in Punjab. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the organisation is studying the issue and will soon announce its next course of action.

The party had suspended its nationwide agitation after the Centre accepted its key demands following the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak controversy.

CJP to Review Punjab Case

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Dipke said the party is currently assessing the developments in Punjab before deciding its next steps.

“We will announce the future strategy soon. Please give us a little time. We will address that too; we are currently planning for it,” he said.

He also said discussions with the government are continuing regarding criminal cases registered against students who participated in the protests.

“Talks are underway concerning the cases that have been filed. No cases should be registered against any student,” Dipke added.

AAP Rejects Paper Leak Allegations

The Punjab government dismissed claims of an examination paper leak, with senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia alleging that the accusations were politically motivated.

According to Sisodia, no examination paper had been leaked in Punjab during the last four-and-a-half years. He claimed the controversy stemmed from an attempt by some students to cheat using Bluetooth-enabled smart pens rather than any leak of question papers.

Sisodia said university authorities detected the devices, confiscated them and immediately informed the police, denying allegations of a systemic paper leak.

Bhagwant Mann Explains Incident

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also rejected the paper leak allegations, stating that the incident involved organised cheating rather than leakage of examination papers.

According to Mann, Bluetooth-enabled pens were allegedly used at two examination centres to scan question papers and send them outside the examination halls. Answers were then transmitted back to candidates through the same devices.

The Chief Minister said the accused were caught within minutes of the examination beginning and that both the students and those assisting them were arrested. He added that the alleged facilitators had reportedly charged between ₹3 lakh and ₹5 lakh for each paper.

Mann said a total of 21 people have been arrested in connection with the case, maintaining that the swift police action demonstrated the state’s commitment to preventing examination malpractice.

As CJP prepares its next move, the party’s response to the Punjab controversy is expected to become clearer in the coming days while discussions with the Centre over student-related cases continue.
