Dipke Resumes Protest After Medical Treatment
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) chief Abhijeet Dipke on Friday announced that he was returning to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to continue the ongoing protest over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, despite recovering from illness. In a post on X, Dipke revealed that he had spent the previous night undergoing medical treatment, including intravenous fluids, injections and blood tests, but said his health would not stop the movement.
Sharing an update, Dipke wrote, “After a night full of IVs, injections, and blood tests, I’m heading back to Jantar Mantar. Still physically weak due to fever, but the fight must go on.”
He reiterated that the agitation would continue until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan steps down from his post, adding, “Our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.”
CJP Calls For Peaceful Nationwide Demonstrations
As the agitation entered another day, the CJP intensified its campaign by calling for peaceful protests across the country on Friday. The organisation urged supporters, student groups and civil society members to hold demonstrations while maintaining discipline and non-violence.
The nationwide mobilisation comes as the party continues to demand accountability over the alleged examination irregularities and insists that the resignation of the Union Education Minister remains its primary condition.
Delhi High Court To Hear Internet Suspension Plea
Meanwhile, legal developments also unfolded on Friday after the Delhi High Court agreed to urgently hear a petition challenging the Centre’s decision to suspend mobile internet services within a 1.5-kilometre radius of Jantar Mantar.
The matter was mentioned before a bench headed by Chief Justice D.K. Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Karia, which agreed to list the petition for hearing later in the day.
Fresh Round Of Talks At Neutral Venue
In another significant development, a second round of discussions between the Centre and CJP representatives is scheduled to take place at the Constitution Club of India. According to reports, the venue was chosen following the protesters’ request that negotiations be held at a neutral location rather than at a government office.
The meeting is expected to focus on the protesters’ key demands and possible steps to break the ongoing deadlock.
Wangchuk Ends Hunger Strike After Government Assurance
The latest developments come a day after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike at Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital. As per media reports, Union Ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh handed over a government assurance letter promising continued dialogue with protesters, legislative measures on examination reforms and consideration of several other demands raised by the movement.
Despite the Centre’s outreach, the CJP has maintained that its protest at Jantar Mantar will continue until its principal demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is fulfilled.
