‘Those Who Commit Such Acts in Lord Ram’s Abode Will Face Severe Punishment’: Dhirendra Shastri on Ram Temple Donation Case

Bageshwar Dham Peethadhish Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has reacted strongly to the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case, saying that anyone involved in misusing money offered by devotees at the shrine would face severe consequences. He also called for a fair investigation into the matter and suggested that the responsibility of serving the temple should be entrusted to individuals devoted to Sanatan traditions.

Calls Alleged Misuse of Temple Donations a Grave Offence

Speaking on the controversy, Shastri said that committing such an act at a place of immense religious significance was a serious wrongdoing and warned that those responsible would not escape punishment.

“Those who commit such acts in the abode of Lord Ram will face severe punishment. When Ravana abducted Mata Janaki, his entire lineage was destroyed. Similarly, anyone who, while in the presence of the Lord, who is the center of faith for millions, shows no fear of God or righteousness and commits such a heinous act will undoubtedly face severe retribution,” he said.

Temple Service Should Be Given to Devoted Followers, Says Shastri

Commenting on the management of the temple, Dhirendra Krishna Shastri said that people entrusted with serving Lord Ram’s temple should be deeply rooted in faith and dedicated to religious traditions.

“…Following this incident, the responsibility of serving the Lord’s temple should be entrusted only to those belonging to the Sanatani Vaishnav and saintly traditions, individuals who are wholly devoted to the Lord,” he said.

Supports SIT Probe Into Alleged Embezzlement

Shastri said he did not have complete information about the allegations but expressed confidence in the ongoing investigation being conducted by the authorities.

“…We do not have specific details, but an SIT has been constituted. There are investigative agencies in the country. They should investigate the matter. The process is currently underway,” he said.

Investigation Continues

The alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case is currently under investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Authorities have already taken action against several accused, while the probe has widened to examine the possible involvement of others linked to the donation counting process. Investigators are also scrutinising financial records, digital evidence and the role of officials connected with the temple’s donation management system.
