Supreme Court Declines Urgent Hearing on Ram Temple Donation Case, Petition to Be Heard by Regular Bench

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to grant an urgent hearing on a petition seeking a court-monitored investigation into the alleged Ram Temple donation misappropriation case. The apex court observed that there was no immediate urgency requiring intervention and directed that the matter be placed before a regular Bench after the court vacation.

Top Court Declines Immediate Listing

While considering the request for an early hearing, the Supreme Court said the plea did not warrant urgent consideration at this stage.

“There is no need for an urgent hearing in this matter at present,” the court observed while declining the request for immediate listing.

The petition will now be heard by a regular Bench after the conclusion of the court vacation.

Petitioner Seeks Court-Monitored CBI-SIT Probe

The petition seeks an independent investigation into the alleged financial irregularities involving donations received by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

The petitioner has requested the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) under the supervision of the Supreme Court. The plea argues that a court-monitored investigation is necessary to ensure an impartial, transparent and time-bound probe into the allegations.

Eight Accused to Be Produced Before Ayodhya Court

Meanwhile, all eight accused arrested in connection with the alleged donation embezzlement case are scheduled to be produced before the Special Court for Corruption Act cases in Ayodhya on Monday.

The accused were earlier remanded to judicial custody and are expected to be presented before the court as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

Security has been significantly tightened around the court complex, with a heavy deployment of police personnel inside and outside the premises.

The Ayodhya Bar Association is also expected to deliberate on whether its members will represent the accused during the proceedings.

Investigation Continues

The alleged Ram Temple donation case has witnessed rapid developments over the past few weeks. Investigators have carried out searches at multiple locations, seized cash, jewellery and financial documents, and recorded statements from several individuals connected with the temple’s donation management process.

Police sources have indicated that statements of nearly 140 people are expected to be recorded during the course of the investigation as authorities continue to examine financial records and gather evidence related to the alleged irregularities.
