Akhilesh Targets BJP Over Ayodhya Donation Controversy
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched another sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), using the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement case to accuse the ruling party of hypocrisy and political deception.
In a series of posts on X, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that Ayodhya, a city the BJP has long projected as a symbol of its politics, would ultimately become the place where the party faces its biggest political setback.
He wrote, “BJP’s Lanka Kand will happen in Ayodhya.”
Akhilesh further alleged that the BJP’s “mask of devotion” had fallen and suggested that those responsible for wrongdoing would eventually be held accountable.
Questions Raised Over Trust Resignations
Referring to the recent resignations linked to the Ram Temple donation controversy, Akhilesh mocked the BJP over what he called its changing stand on resignations.
He said the same party that once claimed resignations never happened under its government was now attempting to distinguish between a resignation and a “tyagpatra” (letter of relinquishment).
The remarks came after senior Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust functionaries stepped down while taking moral responsibility in connection with the alleged donation case.
“Only the First Chapter Has Come Out”
In another post, the Samajwadi Party president claimed that the controversy was far from over.
According to him, “Only the first chapter” of the alleged wrongdoing had surfaced, and he alleged that internal rivalries among different sections associated with the BJP would eventually expose more information.
He also said that authorities must ensure that no one involved is allowed to escape with the alleged proceeds of the wrongdoing.
“Even God’s Audit Will Not Spare the BJP Group”
Continuing his criticism, Akhilesh used another striking remark, saying,
“Even God’s audit will not spare the BJP group.”
He argued that accountability would eventually catch up with everyone involved and also linked the issue to the NEET paper leak controversy, claiming students had been demanding action against those responsible while resignations in other matters were now beginning to surface.
Political Heat Builds Around Donation Probe
The alleged Ram Temple donation controversy has emerged as a major political flashpoint in Uttar Pradesh, with opposition parties intensifying their attacks on the BJP and leaders associated with the temple trust.
As investigations continue and political exchanges grow sharper, the issue is expected to remain at the centre of the state’s political discourse in the coming days.
