SIT submits preliminary findings
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing alleged irregularities in the management of donations linked to the Ram Temple project has submitted its preliminary report to the Uttar Pradesh Home Department. The findings reportedly highlight gaps in the system used for counting and monitoring donation funds.
Lapses in accounting and oversight flagged
According to sources, the report points to weaknesses in financial tracking, supervision, and internal checks. The SIT has raised concerns over how donation money was recorded and verified, suggesting that existing procedures may not ensure full transparency.
No clean chit at this stage
Officials indicated that the investigation is still ongoing and no individual has been cleared of wrongdoing at this stage. The SIT has stated that more evidence and verification are required before final conclusions are drawn.
Staff selection under scrutiny
The probe has also examined the process of selecting personnel involved in counting donations. Their alleged links with individuals associated with temple administration are also being reviewed as part of the wider investigation into operational oversight.
Request for more time and manpower
Due to the volume of financial records and complexity of the case, the SIT has sought additional time and requested more officers to assist in completing the investigation.
Probe still underway
SIT chief Gyaneshwar Tiwari Pant confirmed that the submitted report is only a preliminary assessment. He added that the final report will be submitted after detailed examination and further verification if needed.
The investigation continues as authorities review financial records and operational procedures linked to donation management at the temple.
