Sopore: In a vibrant display of national unity and cultural harmony, the Indian Army, in collaboration with the Lakshya Foundation, successfully organised Mera Desh Meri Pehchaan (MDMP) 2026 at Mohit Sharma Army Goodwill School, Sopore. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 1,800 students from 29 government and private schools across the region.
Organised under the inspiring theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” the programme brought together students, educators, media representatives, social media influencers and members of civil society on a common platform that aimed to promote national integration, cultural awareness and youth empowerment.
The school campus was transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, showcasing the rich traditions, heritage, art, cuisine, music and folklore of various Indian states, including Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland and West Bengal. Through interactive exhibitions and state-themed galleries, participants were offered an enriching journey through India’s diverse cultural landscape.
The event featured documentary screenings, cultural exhibitions, traditional displays and captivating folk dance performances, all highlighting the spirit of “Unity in Diversity.” Students actively participated in the activities and gained valuable insights into the customs, traditions and lifestyles of different regions of the country.
Media personnel and local social media influencers also attended the event, helping highlight the initiative among a wider audience and reinforcing the collective commitment towards nurturing informed, responsible and socially conscious youth.
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers underscored the importance of cultural exchange and national integration in shaping future generations.
