Reports Trigger Fresh Buzz in Maharashtra Politics
Maharashtra’s political landscape is once again witnessing intense speculation, with reports indicating that several Members of Parliament from the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp may be considering a shift towards the faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
As per reports, discussions involving leaders from both camps have taken place in recent weeks, raising questions about the possibility of another major political realignment in the state.
Delhi Meeting Fuels Speculation
According to reports, a closed-door meeting was allegedly held in New Delhi on June 7, where Eknath Shinde is said to have interacted with a group of MPs associated with the camp of Uddhav Thackeray.
Political sources claim that the meeting focused on future political opportunities and the possibility of greater roles for lawmakers willing to align with the Shinde-led faction. However, neither side has officially confirmed the details of the reported discussions.
Cabinet Expansion Talk Adds New Dimension
The speculation comes at a time when political circles are actively discussing the possibility of a future expansion of the Union Cabinet.
As per reports, some MPs were allegedly assured significant organisational responsibilities, while one lawmaker was reportedly informed about the possibility of being considered for a ministerial role if political equations change in the coming months.
These claims remain unverified, and no official statement has been issued by either faction.
Months of Political Outreach Alleged
Political insiders claim that Eknath Shinde and Shrikant Shinde have maintained communication with certain UBT legislators for several months.
As per reports, multiple meetings and individual interactions have taken place in Delhi, adding fuel to rumours that efforts are underway to strengthen the Shinde faction’s position at the national level.
There are also reports that some of these interactions occurred at the residence of Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav in the national capital.
Focus Shifts to Numbers Game
Reports suggest that a majority of Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Lok Sabha MPs outside Mumbai may be in contact with the Shinde camp. However, there has been no public confirmation from any MP regarding a possible switch.
Meanwhile, political observers are closely watching recent meetings between Eknath Shinde and Amit Shah, with speculation growing over whether Maharashtra’s evolving political situation featured in their discussions.
No Official Confirmation Yet
Despite the growing chatter, both the Uddhav Thackeray camp and the Shinde faction have remained officially silent on the reports.
