“Congress Pushed India Into Corruption, NDA Rebuilt Trust”: PM Modi
Launching a strong political attack on the Congress while celebrating 12 years of the National Democratic Alliance government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country moved from an era of corruption and uncertainty to one driven by development, stability and public confidence.
Addressing NDA leaders at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Modi said the people had placed their faith in the alliance after becoming disillusioned with previous governments.
“The country entrusted us with its trust after experiencing betrayal and disappointment. The hope that emerged in 2014 has now transformed into confidence,” he said.
“For Me, The People Are God”
Reflecting on his tenure as India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, Modi described public service as a sacred responsibility rather than a political achievement.
“For me, ‘janta janardan’ is the god, and I have always considered this service as worship,” he said.
The Prime Minister credited the NDA’s journey to collective effort, saying the achievements belonged not to one individual but to every worker and constituent of the alliance.
“This is not my personal accomplishment. It is a collective achievement of every NDA partner and every worker who has contributed to this journey,” Modi added.
PM Modi Lists Development Milestones
Highlighting the government’s record, Modi said India had witnessed rapid transformation when policy, intent and implementation worked together.
He pointed to the expansion of airports, expressways, metro networks, defence exports and digital infrastructure as examples of accelerated growth over the past decade.
“The nation witnessed that when a government works with clear intentions, development can move at an unprecedented pace,” he said.
According to Modi, India’s digital revolution, infrastructure expansion and growing global stature demonstrate the impact of long-term political stability.
“Congress Left India In A State Of Hopelessness”
In one of his sharpest attacks, the Prime Minister accused Congress of creating an environment of pessimism and corruption during its years in power.
He said previous governments convinced citizens that rapid progress was impossible and allowed major scandals to dominate national discourse.
Modi argued that the NDA changed that narrative by focusing on governance, transparency and development-oriented policies.
Poverty Reduction and Stability in Focus
The Prime Minister also highlighted welfare initiatives, claiming that millions of people had been lifted out of poverty during the NDA’s tenure.
He said the electorate had repeatedly endorsed political stability and decisive governance, enabling long-term reforms and infrastructure projects.
“The people have seen the difference a stable government can make. Their trust has been our greatest strength,” Modi said.
NDA Looks Ahead After Completing 12 Years
The conclave brought together leaders from across the NDA spectrum to mark the coalition’s completion of 12 years in office.
As the alliance prepares for future political challenges, Modi urged party leaders and workers to continue strengthening public trust and remain committed to national development.
Closing his remarks, the Prime Minister said the journey was far from over and invoked the mantra of continuous progress.
“You have made this day memorable for me. I never imagined I would witness this milestone, and I consider it my greatest privilege to serve the nation,” he said.
