According to sources familiar with the investigation, the employee stated that a sudden blast occurred shortly after the appliance was switched on, triggering a fire that quickly spread through the premises.
Panic and power shutdown under scrutiny
During questioning, the cook allegedly told investigators that he panicked after witnessing flames and thick smoke. In an attempt to respond to the emergency, he reportedly switched off the building’s main electricity supply before leaving the scene.
Investigators are now examining whether this action may have had unintended consequences during the evacuation process.
Electronic systems may have been affected
Officials are exploring whether the power shutdown disrupted critical safety systems inside the hotel.
