PM Modi Pays Tribute to Pahalgam Terror Attack Victims on First Anniversary, Reaffirms India’s Zero-Tolerance Against Terror

PM Modi Remembers Victims of Pahalgam Terror Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack on its first anniversary, stating that the nation will never forget the innocent lives lost in one of the most horrific terror strikes in recent years.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said the memories of those killed in the April 22, 2025 attack remain deeply etched in the conscience of the nation.

Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year. They will never be forgotten. My thoughts are also with the bereaved families as they cope with this loss,” Modi said.

He further stressed India’s united stand against terrorism.

As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed,” he added.

Pahalgam Attack Left 26 Dead, Mostly Tourists

India is observing one year since the devastating Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed, including 25 tourists and a local pony operator who reportedly tried to save the visitors.

The brutal attack was carried out by The Resistance Front, believed to be an offshoot of the Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba.

According to reports, the terrorists allegedly identified victims based on religion, forced them to recite Islamic verses, and then opened fire. Several victims were newly married couples, and many were shot in front of family members, making the attack one of the most shocking civilian massacres in recent years.

India Responded with Operation Sindoor

Following the massacre, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 6 and 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Officials described the military action as “focused, measured and non-escalatory,” aimed at destroying high-value terror camps and sending a strong message against cross-border terrorism.

The operation was seen as a decisive move in India’s continued efforts to dismantle terror networks threatening national security.

India’s Message: Terror Will Never Win

The first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack has reignited memories of the tragedy while reinforcing India’s national resolve against terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tribute serves as both a remembrance of the victims and a warning that India remains committed to combating terrorism in all forms.

As the nation mourns the lives lost, the message from the country’s leadership remains clear: terrorism will never break India’s spirit.
