“Secret Deal?” Rahul Gandhi’s Big Claim Shakes Kerala Poll Battle

In a sharp political attack ahead of the Kerala Assembly elections, Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of indirectly supporting the Left Democratic Front (LDF).

Addressing a public rally in Adoor, Gandhi described the upcoming election as a direct contest between the UDF and what he called a “CPI(M)-BJP combination.”

“Hidden Hand” Allegation Against BJP

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the BJP has a “hidden hand” in Kerala politics, suggesting an indirect understanding between the BJP and the ruling LDF.

He said, “The BJP does not want the UDF here because they know the only force that challenges them nationally is the Congress party. We have an ideological fight with the BJP and the RSS.”

The remarks are likely to intensify political tensions in the state, where the United Democratic Front (UDF) is attempting to regain power.

Allegations on Central Agencies

Gandhi also accused central agencies of selectively targeting opposition leaders while ignoring those linked to the LDF.

Highlighting his own experience, he said, “I have faced 36 cases and was interrogated for 55 continuous hours. But there is no action against the Kerala chief minister or LDF leaders.”

The Congress leader alleged that such actions raise serious questions about the fairness of investigative agencies.

Targets PM Modi Over Sabarimala Silence

Taking aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi criticised him for not addressing the Sabarimala issue during his recent visit to Palakkad.

“He talks about temples and religion when it suits him electorally, but he forgot to speak about Sabarimala and the issues surrounding the Lord Ayyappa temple,” Gandhi said.

He further alleged that this silence indicates coordination between BJP and LDF.

Promise on Sabarimala Issues

Gandhi assured voters that if the UDF comes to power, it will address all concerns and irregularities related to the Sabarimala Temple.

Political Battle Heats Up

With elections approaching, the accusations have sharpened the political narrative in Kerala. The contest between UDF and LDF is expected to intensify, with BJP also trying to expand its footprint in the state.

Rahul Gandhi’s remarks have added a new dimension to the campaign, setting the stage for a high-voltage electoral battle.
