Trump Announces $300 Billion Texas Oil Refinery Deal With Reliance

US President Donald Trump has announced a massive $300 billion oil refinery project in Texas, claiming it will be the first new refinery built in the United States in 50 years and a major step toward restoring American energy dominance.

The refinery will be developed with investment support from India’s energy giant Reliance Industries and will be located at the Port of Brownsville in Texas.

Trump described the project as the largest energy investment deal in US history, promising thousands of jobs and a major boost to the American economy.

A Historic Energy Project In Texas

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the refinery project is part of his administration’s push to strengthen domestic energy production.

“America is returning to REAL ENERGY DOMINANCE,” Trump said.

He added that the refinery will supply fuel to American markets while also supporting global energy exports.

“Today I am proud to announce that America First Refining is opening the FIRST new U.S. Oil Refinery in 50 YEARS in Brownsville, Texas. THIS IS A HISTORIC $300 BILLION DOLLAR DEAL — THE BIGGEST IN U.S. HISTORY,” Trump wrote.

The President also thanked Reliance Industries for its investment and partnership in the project.

Jobs And Economic Boost For South Texas

Trump said the refinery will bring major economic benefits to the region.

According to him, the project will generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity for South Texas.

“It will fuel U.S. markets, strengthen our national security, boost American energy production and deliver billions of dollars in economic impact,” Trump said.

He also claimed the facility would become “the cleanest refinery in the world.”

Reliance Industries’ Role In The Project

The partnership highlights growing energy cooperation between the United States and India.

Reliance Industries, one of India’s largest private energy companies, is expected to play a key investment and development role in the refinery.

The company already operates some of the world’s largest refining complexes in India and has extensive experience in large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

Oil Prices Rise Amid Middle East Conflict

The announcement comes during heightened tensions in West Asia linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and the United States.

The conflict escalated after the launch of Operation Epic Fury, which triggered retaliatory missile and drone attacks by Iran targeting US military bases and infrastructure across Gulf nations.

The instability has disrupted global energy markets and raised concerns about supply shortages.

A key factor affecting global oil prices is the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important shipping routes in the world.

Nearly 20 percent of global oil supply passes through this narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to international markets.

White House Says Fuel Prices Will Drop

Despite rising energy prices, the White House says the increase will be temporary.

During a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said fuel prices could fall once the strategic goals of Operation Epic Fury are achieved.

“Rest assured to the American people, the recent increase in oil and gas prices is temporary,” she said.

Leavitt added that once national security objectives are completed, oil and gas prices could fall even lower than before the operation began.

The refinery project is now expected to become a major symbol of the Trump administration’s push for energy independence, while also highlighting growing economic cooperation between the United States and India.
