A fresh war of words has erupted between Iran and the United States after Iran rejected claims made by US President Donald Trump that the ongoing conflict would end soon.
Iran’s powerful military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), issued a strong response, stating that Tehran—not Washington—will determine when the fighting stops.
The statement signals a sharp escalation in rhetoric between the two sides as tensions across the Middle East continue to rise.
‘It Is We Who Will Decide the End of the War’
In its statement, the IRGC said that Iran’s armed forces now control the balance of power in the region.
“It is we who will determine the end of the war,” the military body declared, emphasising that the future course of the conflict would be decided by Tehran.
The organisation also said that the “equations and future status of the region” are now in the hands of Iran’s forces, not the United States or its allies.
Trump Says Conflict Could End ‘Very Soon’
The Iranian statement came shortly after Donald Trump suggested that the conflict involving Iran could conclude in the near future.
Speaking during a press conference in Florida, Trump told reporters that the military operation had already inflicted major damage on Iran’s defence structure.
“Very soon. Look everything they have is gone including their leadership,” the US president said when asked about the timeline for the conflict.
Trump Claims Iran’s Military Capabilities Destroyed
Trump further claimed that Iran had suffered massive losses during the early stages of the operation.
According to him, the country lost several layers of leadership along with key defence systems within the first two days of the campaign.
“They have no Navy, Air Force, anti-aircraft equipment. It’s all been blown up. They have no radar, telecommunications, leadership. It’s all gone,” Trump said.
He added that the United States had effectively neutralised Iran’s ability to threaten the region.
US Calls Military Operation a Success
The US president described the campaign as a major strategic success, claiming it had eliminated the biggest threats posed by Iran.
Trump said the United States intervened to stop Tehran from expanding its influence across the region and targeting Israel.
“We wiped them out in the first two days. When you think about it, it’s incredible,” he said.
The sharp exchange between Washington and Tehran reflects growing geopolitical tensions, raising fears that the conflict could further destabilise the Middle East in the coming days.
