Srinagar: Air operations at Srinagar Airport came to a complete halt on Tuesday after continuous snowfall and severe weather conditions made flying unsafe, airport authorities confirmed. Both arriving and departing flights were cancelled as visibility dropped sharply and the runway became unsafe for operations.

Officials at the airport said the decision was taken purely in the interest of passenger safety. “Due to ongoing snowfall and adverse weather, all flight movements have been suspended,” the Srinagar Airport Director said, adding that conditions were being monitored closely.

Passengers scheduled to travel to or from Srinagar were advised not to rush to the airport and instead check directly with their airlines for updates. Authorities have recommended rescheduling journeys or opting for alternative travel plans until weather conditions improve.
