Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday strongly condemned the brutal mob lynching of SK Muhammad in Balasore, Odisha, expressing outrage over the growing incidents of violence by so-called cow vigilantes. Speaking to the media, Owaisi held the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responsible for allowing such acts to go unchecked in areas where they hold power.
“Yesterday in Balasore, Odisha, SK Muhammad was mob-lynched and killed by ‘gau rakshaks’. I strongly condemn this…Wherever the BJP is in power, this kind of free rein is being given to these so-called cow vigilantes. They can kill anyone, stop anyone, act arbitrarily, destroy the rule of law, and violate fundamental rights. And this is happening continuously. These people have been given a license to stop anyone, beat anyone, and if they feel like it, they can even take someone’s life. I condemn this in the strongest possible terms,” Owaisi stated.
