Mumbai: Tension gripped Mumbai’s Bandra area on Wednesday after Salim Quraishi, a Shiv Sena candidate contesting from Ward No. 92 in the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, was seriously injured in a knife attack by unknown persons.
According to preliminary information, the incident took place when unidentified attackers allegedly assaulted Quraishi with a sharp weapon and fled the scene immediately after the attack. Local residents alerted the police, following which he was rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for emergency treatment.
