Mumbai: Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane on Thursday made a strong and controversial statement, warning of strict action against those he accused of promoting anti-national slogans and disturbing communal harmony in Mumbai. His remarks have sparked intense political reactions across the state.
Rane said, “While living in our Hindu nation, while living on our Hindu land of Mumbai, if these jihadis dare and have the audacity to play songs like ‘Kashmir will become Pakistan,’ and if they think their Pakistan-based masters will protect them, then they will be made to face the bulldozer in full force. This jihadist mindset has to be crushed into the ground.”
The minister alleged that certain elements were deliberately provoking tensions by playing slogans linked to Pakistan and Kashmir, and asserted that the government would respond with uncompromising action. Emphasising law and order, Rane said such activities challenge India’s sovereignty and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
