Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday responded cautiously to reports suggesting that he could be projected as the chief ministerial face for the next Assembly elections, stating that no such decision has been taken so far.

Speaking to the media, Vijayan stressed that leadership-related decisions within his party are never made by individuals and are always the outcome of collective consultations. He clarified that speculation around the next CM face is premature and that the party would address the issue at the appropriate time after internal deliberations.

The Chief Minister said there was no reason to personalise the debate or frame it around an individual. Reiterating the party’s long-standing practice, he noted that major political decisions are discussed in detail and finalised through a collective process, rather than being announced unilaterally.
