Mumbai: With the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections approaching, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has indicated that the long-anticipated political alignment between Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is effectively in place, with groundwork already underway across key cities.

Speaking to the media, Raut said party workers have fully accepted the alliance and have begun coordinated efforts on the ground. “There is no confusion regarding the MNS and Shiv Sena alliance. Workers in Mumbai and other municipal areas are already working together, and instructions have been issued,” he stated.

Raut revealed that crucial seat-sharing discussions were concluded late last night, marking a major step forward in formalising the partnership. According to him, constituencies in major civic bodies including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Mira-Bhayandar and Kalyan-Dombivli have already been divided between the two parties.

He also confirmed that deliberations in Nashik are complete, while final clarity will emerge once Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray jointly announce the alliance. “Raj and Uddhav need to come together and make the announcement. It will be decided today or tomorrow,” Raut said.

The emerging alliance is being seen as a significant political development ahead of the January 15 municipal corporation elections, especially in Mumbai, where the BMC contest is expected to be high-stakes.
